Content-addressed raster store

Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFFs named by a hash of their contents, not by species or release. That is why a surface unchanged between releases is stored once: measured across v3/v5/v6/v7, 120,974 model-surfaces collapse to 19,766 distinct rasters.

Subfolders are grids, because a cell_id means a different place on each:

  • usa05 — v1–v7: 3103 × 2006 at 0.05°
  • global05 — v8+: 7200 × 3600 at 0.05°

You are not expected to guess a filename. Resolve one from a release's tables/model_asset.parquet (species) or tables/score_cog.parquet (scores), or search the STAC API (see marine-atlas/{ver}/).
